I’m just gonna settle in right here…
Oh he scared but lil man goin for it

That cat has fucked up that dog before. That dog don't wanna piss off that cat.

But the urge to be friends apparently far outweighs the fear.

“Nothing to see here…” backs up veeery slowly while shaking like a leaf

I LOVE how they back in to the bed oh so slyly.

I used to have a German shepherd that wasn't allowed on the furniture. As she got older she started laying on the couch when we were in the other room (which she had earned at that point of her life). When we entered the room she would get down sooo slooowwly, like we had t-rex vision and we wouldn't see her if she didn't move quickly. It was very funny to watch.

My roommates dog, who I never set couldn’t be in my bed. Would get in my bed very slowly on the mornings after her human left for work. I think she was trying not to wake me, if I looked at her she would look away from me. She seemed like she was trying to be sneaky. She weighed 85 pounds, woke me up every time. Not a sneaky bone in her body.

my cats weren't allowed in the kitchen (and knew it) but we had one female who when caught, would just freeze in place for as long as possible

don't move

they can't see me if I don't move

"Nothing is happening..... Don't be suspicious......."

Me and my wife when I come back to sleep after gaming till 3 •́ ‿ ,•̀

It's probably the dog's bed huh?

so good. you can see the fear in his eyes but he does not care. the bed is worth everything to him. even his life.

You mean that 1/3 of the bed is worth everything to him

That cat in the background "what the hell's going on over there?"

The cat in the background was like: "Yo man you've fucked up, you know that right?"

Lol didn’t even see that ghost!

"Have you heard of personal space, Daisy? Didn't think so."

Can’t not watch, but be verrrry still🐾🐾🐾

Years ago I had a heated bed for my older cat. The younger cat would use it, too, but it was mostly for the older cat.

Some time later, the younger cat started trying to squeeze on to the heated bed when the older cat was on it. There really wasn't enough room and the older cat didn't like it and there'd be an altercation.

Then the younger cat started just harassing or threatening or chasing the older cat off the heated bed whenever he wanted it. I'd yell at him for this, make him get off the heated bed, and then bring the older cat back to it. There were plenty of other cat bed and human bed and furniture choices.

Well, a few weeks after this behavior started, we found out the younger kitty had advanced stage lung cancer. He died not long after.

In hindsight, I could see he had been seeking out the heated bed for pain comfort, not just because he was being territorial. I felt soooo very bad about all the times I had yelled at him or chased him away.

Now there are always at least two heated beds in the house.

I know exactly how you feel. We lost our orange teddy bear of 10 years to cancer. And it initially screwed up his insulin causing pancreatitis which made him demand more food very early on. He seemed totally fine but just more and more demanding. He was on a diet because he was a large cat so I was getting frustrated when he would get in my face or claw at my legs for food. I used a spray bottle to get him to leave me alone after it got so annoying.

A few weeks later he was losing weight even with the extra food intake and I realized something was horribly wrong. I still feel awful for getting angry at him, but we make decisions based on the information we have. You didn't know and neither did I. I'm sure that once you knew you did everything you could for them.

A thing to remember is: you didn't do these things (that you in hindsight feel bad for) for 24 hours 7 days a week, tormenting your loved pet non stop.

In a very small portion of the day, such an incident happened, and the rest they made all the good memories with you, were loved, were cuddled and spoiled, got attention and play and tasty food.

Sometimes loved ones get angry at us too, but deep down we still know even in those moments, that we're loved by them and that we love them too, and we're quick to forget and forgive the next moment. Our pets feel the same.

You were not to know, if you did you wouldn’t have done that at all. It’s hard, try not to think about it and try not to beat yourself up. Cats are masters of hiding pain and illness.

They are masters at hiding pain. My cat had full blown breast cancer but I had no idea. She seemed normal. I never felt the tumors because she was a feral and wouldn't let me rub her belly. When I realized it was to late she died 2 months later.

The only reason I found out my service kitty had a tumor in her throat was because her tongue was suddenly sticking out all the time and she was drooling on herself… she was still eating and drinking, so i took her to the vet early and found out, and because of her advanced age they wouldn’t operate because she mi
