People have been living side by side with animals since ancient times. We bring them to our home, we share their cute pictures in social media, they help us work and relax. And often they save our lives in the literal and figurative sense. We are Stoyan and Dessy from Bulgaria. We are not organization, neither a shelter, we are just an ordinary couple with a big dream. Everything we provide for the stray cats is coming from our own pockets or with the help of donations from our subscribers. We have 4 cats at home, all rescued from the streets - Sopolcho & Bagheera live with us while Alexa & Rijo live with Dessy's mom, who has been feeding and caring of stray animals for the last 10 years. Bulgaria is a small and poor country with lots of stray cats and not enough kind people to take them in. Our dream is to build a shelter where we could take care of many stray cats with the help of Dessy's mom. Today is a day about the stray animals of the world - World Stray Animals Day. We sent Liv along to chat to the Animal Welfare League, which is an organisation that takes in strays and helps them find a home.
The little guysat the Animal Welfare League are looking for their forever homes, but there are a heaps of animals that never get that chance.
A lot of them live on the streets as strays.
Around the world there are 600 million stray animals.
Life can be really tough for them, they're often sick and hungry and can spread diseases and they can also cause a lot of problems for native animals and the environment.
In fact, it's estimated that feral cats kill more than a million birds in Australia, every day!

ROYALS SET AN INSTA RECORD
Being an instafamous star looks pretty glamorous but it's also hard work.
Getting followers can take a long time - unless you're a royal.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, aka Prince Harry and Meghan, started an account yesterday and already have 3 million followers!
They smashed the record for the fastest time to get a million followers, just five hours and 45 minutes.
The person who held the record before them was K-Pop star Kang Daniel.
It took him more than 11 hours.

EXPLOSIVE PLANS FOR ICY WATER
Blowing stuff up to keep people safe sounds a bit strange, but that's what's happening in China right now.
Explosives were put under the ice at the Hei-long-jiang River and then detonated, which made for a pretty speccy show for tourists.
The explosion's supposed to prevent the risk of a flood as the weather gets warmer and the ice melts.

SIX YEAR OLD SURFING STAR
The world's best surfers are battling it out on the Gold Coast this week as the World Surf League kicks off and one young surfer in particular has stolen the show.
Her name is Leihani Kaloha Zoric and she's only six and a half and she's a Yued girl.
And she's also a pretty great surfer!
She's been surfing since the day she was born - seriously!
Leihani Zoric says: "I learnt how to surf because you've got to practice heaps every day and you've got to practice in all kinds of conditions."
This week she put her skills to the test at the Juraki Team Challenge surfing event on the Gold Coast.
Eight junior surfers joined up with a professional mentor for the comp and Leihani and Rookie of the Year Macy Callaghan came third!
She says that her parents are super supportive of her career.
"My mum's really good, she's so good, and she's really helpful and my dad's good at surfing and doing airs and making them and he's nice as well," Leihani said.
So what's Leihani's plan for the future?
"I want to do surfing and I want to beat my brother, hopefully!" she said.

The huge museum in Paris is turning 30 this year and to celebrate, it's letting two lucky peeps have a sleepover there.
They'll get to spend the night under the main Louvre pyramid in a mini-pyramid!

This outfield catch from West Indies star Kieron Pollard was on a whole new level.
He sussed out the perfect spot, managed to lean back and grab the ball, before executing a perfect somersault.

TAPIR'S LOVE A BACK SCRATCH
D'you know what animal this is?
It's called a Tapir.
It's kinda like cross between a pig and an elephant, a combo that is somehow actually pretty cute.
This one's name is Arturo.
He lives at the Melbourne Zoo, and he loves a good rake scratch.

On the muddy and freezing front lines of Ukraine’s conflict with pro-Russian separatist forces, entrenched soldiers have been adopting stray cats and dogs and finding that the animals are quickly becoming valued assets. “She immediately barks or growls if the enemy is planning an attack,” said 21-year-old Ukrainian soldier Mykyta about his dog, explaining how the animals help make the tense situation “safer and calmer”.

Rescue of a homeless dog with a broken leg - Howl Of A Dog Rescue Video www.HowlOfADog.org We were driving back home from the veterinary clinic when we spotted an injured dog limping on side of the road. We pulled over and rushed toward him, trying to stop him from going any further into the thick bushes. He was so desperate and the moment he saw us he seemed to have instantly realized we’re there to help him. We took him to the clinic to be examined and have an X-ray performed, but the results received were not good: he had a double fracture - the two bones of his front leg were broken and needed repair surgery. The vet estimated the fracture was at least one week old. Vlad was also severely emaciated, we can only imagine how hard it was for him to survive for so many days without food and with that painful broken leg. He was so hungry when we found him that he desperately grabbed a box of tissues we had in the car and tried to eat them.
He underwent repair surgery and the fractured bones were fixed with metal plates and screws. The procedure was a complicated one, but everything went well and Vlad made a beautiful recovery. Vlad is a young dog, approx. 2 years old, he’s neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. He’s full of joy and finds so much fun in everything he does. He really loves life and longs to find a home where he can live happy and smile for the rest of his life. He is in our care in Romania but can also travel abroad to the USA, Canada and Europe.
